A Touch of Sparkle
Why We Use Mica in Our Goat Milk Soap
At Blackwattle Dairy, we’re committed to keeping our soaps as natural as possible. That’s why we only use mica in our goat milk soap when we can’t achieve the colour naturally. Think bold purples, shimmering golds, or deep blues—if we can’t make it from herbs, clays, or spices, we reach for mica instead. It lets us have a bit of fun with colour while still staying true to our values: gentle ingredients and creating something that brings joy to your daily routine.
✨What is mica?
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral that’s been ground into a fine powder. When added to soap, it gives it that beautiful shimmer or bold colour—perfect for turning a simple bar into something special.
🌿Is mica in our goat milk soap safe?
Yes. We use only cosmetic-grade, ethically sourced mica that is approved for use on skin. It doesn’t stain, it won’t clog pores, and it doesn’t interfere with the natural benefits of our goat milk. Because we make products for our own family too, we choose ingredients with care and responsibility.
So if you spot a little sparkle in one of our bars, now you know—it’s mica making the magic happen.
